Abstract: This study examines the runtime impact of implicit vs. explicit type casting across five  programming languages (Python, JavaScript, C#, C++, and Java).  Experiments reveal significant differences, with compiled languages generally performing faster,  highlighting tradeoffs between developer  convenience and runtime efficiency.
